What Is Rosacea?

Millions of women suffer from rosacea. The disease is chronic and it has no cure. Some people start to develop eye problems with rosacea. Your eyes may feel extra dry and irritated. Your eyelids may even turn red and become swollen. In advanced cases, your nose may start to become larger. The skin on your nose thickens and your nose takes on a bulbous appearance.

What Are Some Rosacea Triggers?

Certain conditions will often trigger your rosacea, so you want to avoid those triggers whenever possible. Many women find that hot drinks and hot foods make their rosacea flare up. Spicy foods are a problem for many women as well.

These low dose antibiotics can reduce the inflammation in your face so it isn’t as red. You can either take the antibiotics orally or apply them to your face like a cream.

Acne drugs can also be effective on rosacea. The drugs are strong and should not be taken if you are planning to become pregnant soon. If the blood vessels in your skin have become permanently enlarged you may want to consider laser surgery to make them less visible.

Will Makeup Cover Up Your Rosacea?
